Career Development & Employability

Commitment to Progression

The KEC Team supports the wider college in their published Access & Participation Plan. Specifically tasked with NCL’s Progression commitment, we have dedicated employers, and brought in expertise, to help our students to plan their future careers and prepare them for full and rewarding employment.

Career advice

Get one-to-one tailored support through career progression service – drop-in any time or come to our regular workshops and clinics.

Expert career advisors

In addition to our workshops our external “resident recruitment agencies” visit the college on a regular basis and offer career-specific knowledge and experience to students through developing CV’s, your online digital profile, working through applications and preparing for interviews and even getting your graduate job. Our advisors are here to help you develop your career plans and understand what steps you need to take to get there.

Connect with your future employer

We make the most of our business links to put you in the room with potential employers and get you closer to your career.

Career events and employers forum

We arrange visits to recruitment fairs to give you industry exposure as you start to build your professional network.

We operate lectures and seminars led by employers so you can hear what they’re looking for and what’s new in your area.

We organise professional networking events on campus such as our Employers Forum to put you in the room with potential employers.
